Have you been living a life trying to cover your acne scars with heavy make-up, applying different exfoliating creams and solutions but don’t seem to be helping you? Afraid of using Laser treatments because of its ablative properties and long down time duration? The battle against acne scars has been going on for generations now and boy, was that not ending!   Also, a lot of Korean and China brand machines have been proliferating the aesthetic market, unfortunately claiming to give the desired effect at a lower cost when in fact it is really not the case. With each different laser, there are potentially different results, which can lead to inaccuracy and discouragement to the masses if the laser being used is not clarified.  This is why it is important to do research on the brand of the machine, background of the clinic and experience of the operator or the dermatologist. With Skin House Beauty and Laser Clinic’s  latest offering, treatment for deep acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles need not be expensive.  Our Pixel Fractional CO2 Laser  (10600 nm wavelength) is different from Pixel Erbium with 2940 nm wavelength that other clinics offer.  What we are using is a medical grade, stand alone unit that is more effective in giving results. Do check the photo of the machine for easy reference. Allow me to show first how Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment works. From the word “Fractional” and “Pixel”, the laser light passes through the patented Pixel® micro optics lens array to penetrate the skin with tiny thermal channels.   The Fractional CO2 Effect ü  It creates an ablative and thermal effect in only these channels – a micro-injury – without disturbing the surrounding tissue. ü  These micro-injury sites (about 15-20 percent of the treatment area) start the process of healing. ü  The intact, undamaged skin around the treatment site is what promotes quicker healing for a faster recovery.   Fractional CO2 Skin Resurfacing treatments have been widely used nowadays since unlike topical creams, laser skin resurfacing works deep in the underlying tissues reduce the appearance of acne scarring. This popular and long accepted technology has normally been ablative; meaning that some portion of the top layer of skin is deliberately damaged. Some people, however, wish to avoid all ablative procedures but with Pixel Perfect skin resurfacing, you’ll achieve dramatic results similar to traditional CO2 while minimizing long-term discomfort and the risk of complications. Pixel Fractional CO2 Laser significantly improves the tone and texture of skin in one treatment with minimal downtime and faster healing – patients usually return to normal activities within three to seven days. Pixel Fractional CO2 Laser has a lower risk of complications compared to traditional CO2 laser resurfacing with a short learning curve. What’s more, the Impact ITED hand piece will ensure 100% absorption of your trusted topical cream for complete and effective absorption. Expect lightening and improvement of skin color and texture with the use of Impact ITED only from the Alma Lasers. This is something that other Fractional CO2 Laser does not offer. Did I mention that this is an FDA Approved machine? So be more confident, smoothen...

With proper diet, exercise and the right attitude, all these can be arranged.  Go to the gym or try Cohen to get that rockin’ body!  As for flawless skin and hair – that is where we come in!   Skin House Beauty and Laser Clinic happen to have the so-called “Rolls Royce” of laser hair removal machines. GentleMax Pro is a combination of the fastest and most powerful 755 nm Alexandrite laser with the 1064 nm long pulse ND:YAG laser.  What this means is that we have Diode, Alexandrite and ND:Yag which provides us the capability to offer the best treatment for all Skin Types.   Photo Courtesty of Syneron Candela Syneron Candela, the maker of this machine, is after all the global leader in the medical aesthetic marketplace.  When you ask a non-biased dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon, they will tell you to go to a practice that offer different varieties of LASERs so you can find the one that is more suited for your hair and skin type. Unlike other laser hair removal machines, GentleMax Pro has a patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) that provides consistent, epidermal cooling and unparalleled comfort for the patients. DCD prepares skin for treatment by selectively spraying the upper layers (or epidermis) with a cooling burst of cryogen in adjustable spray/delay durations, milliseconds before the laser pulse. DCD’s unique design provides excellent visibility throughout the entire process, is operator independent, and will provide the same epidermal protection no matter how fast the laser is fired. This balances the heat so there is not much discomfort.  With this amazing technology, there won’t be any need for cooling gel, which tends to be a little messy when doing Full Bikini or Brazilian and Legs.  Treatment for lower legs only takes about 30 minutes, including the spot test, which takes up around 3 to 5 minutes. Imagine, underarm laser only takes around 10 minutes?  You’re in and you can just go out to go about your merry ways.  Furthermore, the FDA has approved GentleMax Pro for permanent hair reduction.   Just to give an overview: Alexandrite also known as GenteLase is a very powerful near infrared laser hair removal machine for patients with lighter skin types I-III. These are Caucasians and Asians with very light skin tone. It has excellent pick up by melanin (skin and hair pigment), which makes it great for patients with lighter skin tones, but not a good option for those with darker skin.  Alexandrite laser provides quicker, safer and more effective results compared to other lasers with proper settings.  Since it has the shortest pulse duration (or cooking time), it can also effectively lase thinner or lighter pigmented hairs.   Long Pulse ND:Yag also known as GentleYag is an infrared laser that is most effective for patients with Skin Types IV-VI.  The principle behind laser hair removal is selective photothermolysis,...

How To Improve Your Underarms 101

Posted by on Jun 29, 2012 | 32 comments

Do you still have dark underarms?  You probably still pluck, wax or shave.     Shaving is the most common method of removing hair in the underarms.  It is said that the most efficient way to shave is to always use a new razor or to follow the direction of the hair growth.  Been there, done that.  Though shaving is a cheap, quick and usually painless method to remove the hair, one also get stubble hair re-growth, scratches, irritation, razor burns, ingrown hair and often, grayish skin tone. Waxing is another common hair removal method.  This can be done at home or in a professional salon.  A potential problem withwaxing is that the pulling on the delicate skin can cause it to loosen when done on a regularly basis.  This could be uncomfortable and unsightly.  Though popular in the 90’s those who really want flawless underarm will not achieve it when removing hair this way.  Constant friction also contributes to discoloration. Again this is a temporary solution compared to underarm laser hair removal. Laser hair removal has been growing in both efficiency and popularity for several years. Laser hair removal for the underarms help to smooth out the skin and reduce hair count and thickness. The light of the laser hits the follicle and damages it which in some cases can permanently stop hair growth. A series of treatments is spaced over a number of weeks in order to destroy the hair root in all its 3 growth cycles. Hair can initially grow back, however it is thinner and lighter. Over the course of the treatment, any regrowth will be noticeably finer, sparse, and less likely to become ingrown hair. Sessions for underarm laser hair removal are quick and relatively painless. Most people who have had laser hair removal treatments agree that the improvement is tremendous.  Provided of course that you are having laser hair removal done in a reputable clinic with trained technicians, and medical grade diode laser hair removal machine.  It is important to research on the machine and background of the clinic before signing especially those who offer prices that are too good to be true. At Skin House, photos can be taken before treatment starts for future comparison.  This way, the patient can evaluate and see gradual improvement of the color and texture of the skin. It takes time to see improvement, and this will depend on the starting color and texture of the skin.  The darker the skin, the longer it will take for it to lighten.  Laser Hair Removal combined with underarm whitening will give beneficial results. Before signing up, a consultation will be done to know if the patient is a suitable candidate for the laser hair removal treatment.  If the patient gets the go signal, the procedure will take only about 15 to 20 minutes for a small area like the underarms.  A note regarding the do’s and don’ts will be provided after every visit. The causes of excessive hair growth are as follows: –   – Pregnancy –   – Hormonal Imbalances (ex. PCOS) –   – Thyroid Problems –   – Reactions to certain Medications...

The Pristine Diamond Microdermabrasion (aka Diamond Peel)

A diamond peel treatment is a form of microdermabrasion, a popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure that resurfaces the skin to give it back its healthy, youthful glow. Diamond peel treatments are a gentler microdermabrasion treatment that is designed to remove fine lines and wrinkles. A diamond peel treatment is a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure in which the skin is exfoliated to remove dead skin cells and other skin impurities using actual diamond chips to vacuum the skin away. In order to do this, the top layer of skin is removed in order to rejuvenate the skin. The epidermal cell structure is actually restored, increasing the skin’s elasticity and collagen levels.

During a Diamond Peel, a skilled professional gently runs a hand-held device with a diamond tipped wand over the skin. A steady layer of diamond dust is applied to the skin and then vacuumed away, exfoliating away dead skin cells and removing fine lines and wrinkles. Probe tips of varying sizes are used to get into the tighter areas, such as around the eyes, nose, and mouth. Probes of different coarseness are also used on spots of the face where the skin is more sensitive. Each treatment should take about 20 minutes, but may take longer depending on the special needs of your skin. For instance, if you are getting treatment for deep stretch marks or another specific skin condition, the procedure will take longer because they require more thorough, focused work. Immediately following treatment, your skin will look slightly pink and rosy, but should not be irritated or red. Even after the first treatment, you will see visible results. Age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, freckles, and stretch marks will be less noticeable, or may disappear completely. The results of each treatment will not be lost, but instead will gradually improve with each treatment you have. For long-term results, you will need to schedule regular maintenance appointments to ensure that the effects of your peel are not lost. PRISTINE Pristine Diamond Microdermabrasion (aka Diamond Peel) offers aesthetic practitioners the most advances exfoliation system, with applications for both facial and body treatments, providing patients with results they can see and feel. Hello Laser… Goodbye Razor!

Smooth and hair free skin can make you feel more comfortable and confident.  When you are happy with the way you look, you can conquer the world! Skin House Beauty and Laser Clinic uses an advance diode laser hair removal machine.  It targets the hair follicles, making it extremely hard for hairs to grow back.  90% hair reduction is experienced by majority of the patients.  Usually an average of 6 to 8 sessions are necessary to reach an ideal level of hair removal.  This is because your hair grows in 3 cycles.  Some hair follicles may be stagnant during a laser hair removal session, and may seem unaffected by the laser. Some hairs may also be more resilient than others, needing more than once to zap, depending on the type, texture and density. Rest assured, this top of the line diode laser hair removal is compatible for all skin types.  Our laser technicians are also skilled and trained in choosing and rendering the correct settings for a particular skin type for a maximum overall hair reduction. Note:  Don’t wax or pluck 4 weeks before Diode laser hair removal schedule. Do not apply whitening cream for 2 weeks before Diode laser. 4 to 8 weeks interval per session.  6 to 8 sessions for permanent hair reduction. On your 2nd session, please shave the hair 1 day before coming for your treatment. Once patient stops manual hair removal like epilating, plucking, waxing and shaving, over all texture and color improves over time.  The need for additional underarm whitening treatments will be determined as patient progresses with the session. Before the Diode laser hair removal treatment, the patient will be informed about the do’s and don’ts for safe laser sessions.  It is important to note that the patient should not use any whitening or peeling product 2 weeks before and after diode laser hair removal treatments. This is important to avoid complications that may arise during or after the session.  Take note that the patient can wash his or her face, underarms or the treatment area, and take a bath provided that the water is not too hot. The patient will experience heat transferred from the machine, with tiny bursts of lights in areas with hair.  2 weeks after the procedure, some of the hairs will automatically shed with no effort. The diode laser hair removal machine at Skin House Clinic can target virtually any part of the body including underarms, upper lip, legs and even the bikini line with minor discomfort.  If you’ve been having dark underarm problems for the longest time, this is the first step to achieving that flawless (if not presentable) looking armpits.  Give yourself the gift of beauty… You deserve it!
